Datca - between the Aegais and the Mediterranean Sea

Datca is an about 100-km long peninsula located to the west of Marmaris. Here, the coast protrudes like a finger into the sea and divides it into the northern part, the Aegean, and the southern part, the Mediterranean. The narrowest part of the peninsula is less than one kilometre wide, offering a spectacular view of both sides of the sea. The small, traditional fishing village Datca is situated on the southwestern part of the peninsula about one hour away from Marmaris and about two and a half hours away from Dalaman airport. With its 5,200 inhabitants, the village is still very peaceful and quiet and wins over its visitors with its unspoilt and extraordinary landscape. Datca is a good choice for all travellers who want to escape mass tourism. With mountains in the background and a fantastic view over the vast, almost 10 kilometre long bay, you have the opportunity to relax and take a break from everyday life. The healthy and pleasantly dry climate improves the relaxation effect considerably. Datca's flora is especially rich. Colourful flowers, spices and various healing herbs grow on the fields and mountain sides. Almonds, olives, honey and fish are of world class quality.
