El Yaque, Isla Margarita » location & getting there

You can fly from anywhere in the world to Caracas / Venezuela.

The important thing is that you Need to collect your luggages by arriving in Caracas (Whatever the Touroperator or airline told you to do at departure). You have to get out from the international to the national airport (it's about 5 mins walk), do not take a taxi (nobody recommends it), if you need help with your luggage you can easily get a carrier (be prepared to drop them something like 2 or 3 US$).
Aeropostal is the recommended airline to get to Isla Margarita / Porlamar. They fly 7 times a day (2 flights in the morning, and 5 in the afternoon from 7 a.m till 7.30 p.m). Some US Airlines fly directly to Porlamar airport.
When arriving in Porlamar, you can already see the Windsurfers from the airplane. It is realy close!
You do not have a transfer organised? Just get out the airport and take a taxi to El Yaque. Costs about 8 - 10 US$.
