Our team member of the month for April 2010 is Anna Flückiger, who´s been working at our center in Marsa Alam, Egypt, for two years.
Although two years is not such a long time, you could still call Anna an old Club Mistral hand as since the age of 12 she´s been going to Safaga for her holidays and to learn windsurfing from the very beginning.
She made her first attempts with Ulla, our center manager at Club Mistral Safaga.

From her first time on the water she was completely crazy about windsurfing and at only 15 years old she set off on a journey to New Zealand, where she spent 6 months at a windsurfing academy.
Probably she was already born with the windsurfing gene – her father is also fanatic about the sport and spends as much time as possible on the water.
For almost every holiday the Flückiger-Family went to one of the windy spots of the world.
No matter if it was Greece, Egypt or Thailand – they loved the place (once there were some windsurfing boards on the beach)!
However, it’s not only windsurfing that Anna really likes. Horseback riding has always been something Anna truly loves. Actually she loves not only horses but everything which has fur behind the ears.
At home she has a complete petting zoo with 2 dogs, some cats, turtles and rabbits. The little time she spends at home in Switzerland, she spends with her animals. No wonder that she decided not to eat meat anymore when she was only 12….
Before Anna came to Club Mistral she did several internships in Switzerland, working with kids as well as some office jobs.
When we opened our center in Marsa Alam in 2008, it was actually the idea of Ulla, our center manager in Safaga, to offer a job to Anna.
Of course it didn´t take much for her to say “yes” – she could finally turn one of her favorite hobbies into a career.
In February 2008 Anna, Ulla, Wolfgang and 500kg of luggage set off to the Egyptian desert.
In the last 2 years, Anna has been responsible for Guest Relations and Administration and has gained a lot of experience in these areas. She´s been doing a really good job! She´s flexible and helpful and you can rely on her 100%. If something has to be done, she does it straight away and very accurately – don´t forget that she´s Swiss!
Moreover she´s really good with people and our guests love her nice and sweet nature.
It’s not surprising that Anna managed to climb to the top of the Club Mistral career ladder in the last two years and is now running the center in Marsa Alam.
We´re more than sure that she will do a fantastic job as a center manager and really trust her in that.
We – and especially Ulla and Wolfgang – would like to thank Anna for the great last years and for her great work. Here’s to many more years!!
Stay just as you are, Anna!
