The Team Member of the Month October 2009 is Pleun van Garderen!
This year she is working at our Club Mistral & Skyriders center in Ras Sudr, Egypt, but she has enriched our team since last summer season 2008!
In 2008 she came to our center in Golf de Roses for her first season and this was when she became completely hooked up with Club Mistral!
Ever since this time she´s been super motivated working for us, and so after Golf de Roses she went on to El Yaque, Isla Margarita.
From there she moved on to Ras Sudr, where she is now responsible for guest relations, shop and administration.
Pleun is from the Netherlands and studied in Amsterdam.
She also did several different jobs over there, but her dream was always to work abroad, travel a lot and to discover as many new places as possible.
When she met her boyfriend Ben in 2005 who luckily shares her dream, it was clear that nothing could keep her back “home” in Holland.
So they started off – from Amsterdam into the “big, (blue) world”. First they went to Brazil to travel throughout the whole country, then, in 2007, they decided to go for the Cape Verdes.
Now she travels the world with Club Mistral!
The special thing about Pleun is that not only is she doing a fantastic job and you can really always count on her, but also that she´s always friendly and attentive and that her way of working is super accurate and calm at the same time.
Apart from that, Pleun is a star in organization and never loses the overview - and her equipment advices at the counter are spot on, even though she doesn’t know how to windsurf.
She has tried it several times but her first love is kitesurfing so there´s not so much time left to practice windsurfing.
Her flexibility was proved in El Yaque last year.
Owing to some difficulties with the staff, help was urgently needed there and Pleun did not hesitate to jump in at the deep end and replace the center manager for a few months – and did a perfect job, although she hasn´t had too much experience.
To cut a long story short; Pleun is a real enrichment to Club Mistral and we can´t imagine our team without her anymore.
Who wants to do without someone like her??
She is naturally likeable and you just have to take her to your heart straight away. She is funny. She knows how to treat guests. She is professional. She´s always organized, speaks a lot of languages, flexible and reliable.
A textbook example of a team member!
A guest of ours who stayed in Ras Sudr sent us an email, nominating Pleun for the next team member of the month, saying that “Pleun is not only a very nice person to talk with but also very mature, always attentive, a person you can count on!”
Pleun, we hope that you never stop enjoying working for Club Mistral and that you will stay in our team for a long, long time!!
