Our team member of the month for January 2009 is our Grande Dame of Club Mistral – Inge!
We have many reasons for this! On the 17th of March Inge will mark 16 years at Club Mistral! She is one of our most long standing and faithful team members! In September 2008 she celebrated her 80th birthday! Normally it is not polite to mention a lady’s age but in this case it really is something special. To be so active, fit and young at heart is really a reason to be proud!

This is Inge's story, under the motto B-B-B: Berlin – Bonn – Bavaria

Inge, who can look back on a very eventful, intensive life, is still full of energy and an infectious love of life! Many years ago, Inge left her home town of Berlin to move to Bonn, where she initially devoted herself to the job of housewife and mother. Once the children were independent enough, she assisted her first husband in his wholesale business and embarked on her own professional career. She drove around at breakneck speed in her Ferrari and enjoyed life to the full. She continued her professional career by taking up the position of private secretary to the State Secretary at the Ministry in Bonn, where she pulled all the strings for years! During a stay at a health resort, she saw HIM (the man of her dreams), found HIM fabulous and decided there and then to ask HIM for a dance ...
HE is Lucki, a dyed-in-the-wool Bavarian, and the two embarked on a long distance, Bonn-Bavaria relationship for the next 3 years. In the long run, the travelling to and fro was not ideal, so Lucki put an end to it by simply carrying Inge off to Bavaria. They have been married for over 20 years now and are a fun-loving, energetic and likeable couple!

Inge then went looking for a job here in Bavaria and promptly landed one at the Frauenhofer Institute in Munich. She remained there until her retirement, running the place with all of her energy. For the next 2 years she enjoyed retirement to the full but then started feeling bored and decided that she would like to go back to work – but only part-time, in order to earn a bit of extra money for all of her activities. That's how she came to read the Club Mistral advertisement about a vacancy for a clerical assistant and decided on the spot to call in and see about the job ...Yola and Inge took an immediate liking to each other. Inge's positive air, her energy and courteous manner landed her the job immediately. That was ten years ago. Inge was present right from the start of Club Mistral and could probably write a book about us all! She soon realized that English was absolutely necessary in her job, likewise computer skills. So she took private lessons in English and attended computer courses! It wasn't long before she could handle telephone calls in English and do anything and everything required on the computer. As she did not surf herself, it took a while until she was really into the business, but with her fast skills and a few surf magazines she managed to understand and know the whole windsurfing scene very fast.

Inge is very helpful, extremely conscientious and flexible. She is always there to assist with difficult situations and has always been ready to do whatever she can to help, even in the evenings or at the weekends. For this Yola and the whole Club Mistral team would like to thank Inge a lot!

Her job comprises of administrative support. She is an excellent and industrious proof-reader and is responsible for all calls to the authorities and difficult cases, as she can achieve anything with her charm. She also offers a magnificent catering service at parties and meetings, eventhough this is not exactly her favourite task …

Inge is also a keen sportswoman:
Apart from her regular physical exercises and aqua aerobics, she is a keen skier in winter and enjoys cycling trips in summer as well as soaking up the sun at the lake, of course. She also finds plenty of time for travelling and cultural pastimes, so that her leisure time sometimes even becomes rather stressful! And all of that at the tender age of 80! We take our hats off to her!

Inge is a shining example for us all – still sporty and so active in her job despite her age – and the fact that everybody thinks she is at least 15 years younger than she really is speaks for itself! This year Inge and her husband will spend her holidays on a cruise ship on the Nile in Egypt - and if Lucki is not watching she will probably have a try on a windsurf board.

Inge is a valuable team member in the office and helps us with absolutely everything!
We can't imagine how things would function in the office without her, but we are not the only ones to appreciate her efforts – her presence alone is a new highlight every day for our  office dog "Koa" who is also not the youngest anymore, especially at lunch time, when she feeds her with sausage.

Inge, we would all like to thank you for everything you've been doing for us for years!
We look forward to many more successful and enjoyable years together!
